Airtel > Call Management Services > Conference Call

  1. invite up to 5 people to join in call conference
  2. speak privately with any member in the conference
  3. discontinue private conversation and come back to conference
  4. Calls can be created with both on-net and off-net numbers.

To make a Conference Call, you need to ensure that “Call Waiting” option in your handset is activated. For most-handsets, the “Call Waiting” feature can be found under the “Call Settings” Menu.

Making a conference call

Option 1: Conference calls can be made directly from your handset menu options as follows.

Option 2:Using Keypad Options -

Step 1Dial First Call Normally
Step 2Press “2” followed by SEND to put first caller on hold
Step 3Dial number of 2nd caller
Step 4Press “3” followed by SEND to conference between you, caller 1 and caller 2

Airtel > Call Management Services > Call Forward / Call Divert

In case you are busy in a meeting, or traveling outside of national coverage, divert your calls to another number or your voicemail, where you can be left messages!

Using call divert

Option 1: Calls can be diverted to your designated number or Voicemail from your handset. In most handsets, the “Call Divert” option usually appears in the “Call settings” Menu. Under this menu, you will find at least four options for call diversion –

  1. Forward All Calls
  2. When Busy
  3. No reply
  4. Not Reachable

Select your desired preference. As a last step, enter the number you want your calls to be diverted to e.g. Airtel voicemail 789 or any other number.

If you want to divert your calls to your voicemail instead, in each case replace the phone number with the voicemail number, 789.

Activate your voicemail service so that your callers can leave messages for you when you are busy in a meeting or traveling abroad.

Activating your voicemail

Our Voicemail service can be activated through the airtel Menu in your handset by clicking on the following menu options:

Airtel menu >Select Self Service > Select Voicemail > Select Activate

Your voicemail will be immediately set to work under the “Not Reachable” condition.

This means that whenever you are out of network coverage or your phone is switched off, your callers will be able to leave messages for you.

Once subscribed successfully, you will receive an SMS notification confirming your voicemail has been activated. The SMS will also ask you to dial into our voicemail system (789) to record your personal greeting.

If no personal greeting is recorded, then by default the Voicemail system will play its own greeting for your callers to hear.

Retrieving your voicemail messages

Every time someone leaves you a voicemail, you will be notified by an SMS.

Dial into our voicemail system - 789 - to retrieve your new Voicemail messages or to listen to the old ones.

Personalizing your voicemail

Setting up your Voicemail for other call types

Other than “Not Reachable” you can also SET your Voicemail to work for either one of the following call types:

  1. For All Calls
  2. For Busy Calls
  3. For No-Answer Calls

This can be done in two ways-

  1. Through the Voicemail Recording System - Dial 789 & follow the simple voice instructions.
  2. From your Handset Options – Go into the “Call Divert” menu and select the set-up option of your choice and divert to the voicemail number 789

To enable your voicemail service to work for other call types using your handset, options please follow the simple steps below-

Settings > Call Settings > Call Divert > Divert if busy > To voicemail box > Enter your voicemail number 789

Recording your personalised voicemail greeting

To record your personal greeting or personalize other Voicemail settings, dial 789 and follow the simple voice instructions.

Charges for Airtel Voice Mail Service:

  • Monthly rental Tk. 10.00 per month
  • Retrieving Voicemail messages from IVR Tk. 0.10 per min
  • Voicemail message SMS notification Free

Note:

  • Above tariff is exclusive of 15% VAT.
  • For Prepaid monthly calculation will start from the day of subscription
  • For Postpaid rental will be charged on the next bill cycle

  • phone is switched off for some reason

  • you are out of our network coverage area

Subscribing to Missed Call Alerts

Subscribe to Airtel Missed Call Alert service through the Airtel Menu in your handset by clicking on & following options:

You will receive an SMS notification upon successful subscription or activation of your MCA service.

Now, whenever you’re unreachable and your callers call you, this is what they will hear:

Later, when you are back in coverage or are reachable, you will get an SMS alert(s) such as the following:

MCA Alerts will contain the caller’s name or number, date & time of call and how many times they had called.

You can receive MCA sms notification from On-Net, Off-Net, BTTB and also from ISD numbers

Unsubscribing to Missed Call Alerts

Airtel > Call Management Services > Call Waiting / Call Hold

Call Waiting allows you to handle two calls at a time. You can be on one call, while the network will alert you about another incoming call. You can then put your first caller on hold, while you receive the second call.

The feature also works the other way around - it allows you to make a second “outgoing” call, while you are already on the phone with someone else

Activating Call Waiting

Option 1: To start using the service, go to the “Settings” menu in your handset, select “Call Settings”, and then select “Call Waiting” option. Now, select “Activate”.

Option 2: Alternatively, Call Waiting can be activated using keypad options:

How does the feature work?

Scenario1 – from your handset options:

If a second caller calls you while you are already on the phone with someone else, you will hear a recurring beep during your mobile conversation. The number / name of the second caller will be displayed on your mobile screen. To accept the incoming call, simply select “Answer”.

Scenario2 – Using short code options:

To reject incoming callPress 0 followed by “SEND”
To put current call “on hold” & “accept” waiting / incoming call
Press 2 followed by “SEND”
To switch between the two callsPress “SEND”
To end Current Call & Connect to Waiting CallPress 1 followed by “SEND”

Tired of prank callers, who are ruining your whole day! Subscribe to Call Block Service – your personal call manager on 24x7 hours a week & 52 weeks a year. Through this service, you will be able to block prank calls while using black list profile, or allow only few desired callers while using white-list profile. Thereby, it would act as your personal call manager.

Features
Easy Subscription Mechanism:

You can type ‘add’ to 8181 and the number will be added to blacklist and at the same time, you will be subscribed to call block service under blacklist profile.

1st 10 Number Addition / Replacement Free:

You can add, delete, replace within the 1st 10 number slots absolutely free. It can be all 10 numbers in Black list, or all 10 numbers in white-list, or some numbers in black list & some number in white list with a total of 10 numbers)

Blocking/Allowing of a number with and without Bangladesh Country Code (+880):

When you are using black list profile, and want to block a local number with or without country code (+880), the Call Block Service Platform will be able to disallow the incoming call. Similarly, if you are using white list profile, and wants to allow a number with or without prefix (+880), the Call Block Service Platform will be able to allow the incoming call.

Features of SMS Alert:

Every day at 9pm ~ 10pm, a you will receive an incoming SMS, noticing the disallowed numbers and the frequency of their attempt to reach the subscriber.

Many types of voice messages for disallowed callers:

There is a huge library of prerecorded voice prompts. You can choose any prompt, while s/he wants to disallow the number from reaching him/her.

Different voice messages for different callers:

For every blocked caller, you can set different voice messages from the library.

Your own Voice Messages:

You can also record your own message and play it for your disallowed caller.

Fake Voice-Mail prompt:

If you select ‘Fake Voice Mail’ voice message, the prank callers (blocked) will get an impression of leaving voice message in the mail box but actually the prank callers is getting charged for this established call, which will not be recorded.

Prefix based Number Blocking/ Allowing:

This feature enables you to block/allow any call coming with a desired prefix. For example, if you enlist 880123 with ‘#’ at the end like ‘880123#’ in the black list, then all numbers that start with 880123 will be disallowed to call you. Similarly, if you add 880123 with # at the end in white list, then, along with the other white-list number, 880123 prefixed all numbers will be allowed to call.

Usage Mechanism

  • To delete a number from black / white list
  • To replace a number from black / white list
  • To view black listed / white listed numbers through SMS
  • To pick your personalized prompt for the black-listed caller / white-listed caller
  • To swap profile from ‘Black-list’ to ‘white-list’, press 7
  • For help, press 8
  • To unsubscribe the service, press 9
  • To change the language, press 0
