You can receive news in three ways:

Under each option, you will find six categories of news to choose from:

On-Demand News

You can also get news & updates on any particular issue of your choice. But first you need to search out the ‘specific” short code for the sport you are interested in. Use the “Search Codes” menu to find out this code

1. Gives you list of codes for ten most popular news items
2. Allows you to search for codes by alphabetical categories.
3. Allows you to search for codes by keywords.

How to Search

Let’s say you want to find out news updates on IRAQ. Here’s how:

• Step 1: Go into the Airtel menu
• Step 2: Select “Info-zone”
• Step 3: Click on “NEWS”
• Step 4: Select “Search Codes”
• Step 5: Select “Keyword search” and type in IRAQ (or your desired artist’s name)

You will soon receive a SMS with the specific short code.

You then need to go back to the “On Demand” menu and enter this code. You will shortly receive the update on your desired issue over SMS.

To subscribe to the service of your choice, select that service and click on “activate” .

For example, if you to receive “Breaking News” alerts, click on:

Breaking News> Activate

You will start receiving regular Breaking News alerts over SMS. If you want to deactivate the service at any time, simply click on “Deactivate”

Multimedia-based alerts

If your handset is GPRS/EDGE activated, you can also choose to subscribe to our “video-based” alert services, such as:

• Advertisements
• Fashion & Leisure
• Movie Clips

Click on the “Search Alerts” menu to search for codes. Using this menu, you can search for alert services in two ways-

• To search for alert services alphabetical categories, click on “Alphabetically”
• To search for alert services by keywords, click on “Keyword”

How to Search
Let’s say you want to find out the short code for the alert service “MOVIE NEWS”. Here’s how:

• Step 1: Go into the Airtel menu
• Step 2: Select “My Stuff”
• Step 3: Click on “Alerts”
• Step 4: Select “Search Alerts”
• Step 6: Select “Keyword” and type in MOVIE NEWS (or your desired alert-service)

You will soon receive a SMS with the specific short code.

You then need to go back to the “On Demand” option and enter this code. If the service is available, you will soon be subscribed to it.

Now you can update yourself with the latest news from TV channels and newspapers from your mobile anytime you want to.
